Sanyo and Battery Records

A car powered solely by electricity has traveled without stopping the distance between Tokyo from Osaka.
It took nearly six months after the commission of Guinness World Records for recognize the Japanese company Sanyo record for the largest number of kilometers traveled by car to an electric power only.

A specially modified Daihatsu Mira has traveled on 17 November, 556.6 km that separate Tokyo from Osaka without having to recharge or replace batteries cylindrical 8320 (type 18650) That make up the fuel system. In the registration records, however, was not mentioned the time taken for completion of trafficking.
What in recent years had hampered the spread of vehicles powered solely by electricity was limited independence, but if the experiment made by Sanyo should be repeated successfully the era of Green Car may no longer seem so distant. Only the Toyota Prius reached now a tangible level of diffusion, but it is in any case a model of hybrid car, or dual fuel.
