Smart Bookmarks from Haleron for 1300 SEK

Navman Smart Bookmarks is a new so-called smart book from the company Haleron. This is a small portable PC that is placed in the segment between mini-computers ( netbooks ) and smart phones (smartphones). A price tag of 1300 crowns do computer wise to pay attention.
After minicomputers came clever books - a new concept of small super-cheap laptops. The usual mini-computers will now have better performance, in line with price tags go up. Smart Books have taken the small notebooks in the other direction. The price will be very low and performance is very low. One could say that a smart book is like a smartphone - advanced mobile phone - although designed as a portable computer.
The company Haleron has developed a new model called Mio Smart Bookmarks, which Liliputing writes about. The price seems to be at 1300 crowns, even if it is not fixed yet. It is uncertain whether the computer will show up in Sweden, but the concept is still worth paying attention to because we get to see smart books on the Swedish retail shelves come.

The hardware of the Mio Smart Book is very low compared with such a small laptop. The processor from VIA is ticking in only 266 MHz, and internal memory is at 128-256 MB. The storage of 1 GB flash memory in the computer. In addition there is support for the technologies, WiFi 802.11b/g, Ethernet port, three USB ports, SD card reader and the potential for 3G modem.
As operating systems have you chosen the Windows CE 6.0. Theoretically, it is also possible to run the Google Android or some form of Linux on your computer. Windows XP, however, is ruled out because, as Liliputing writes, does not work on ARM processors (as the VIA model is). This is a computer to surf and send e-mail. If you intended to run Photoshop and Counter Strike on it, forget it.

Trend Micro is the best protection against current virus threats

Trend Micro, which develops security software in the form of antivirus and other things for consumers and businesses, took first place in a new test done by NSS Labs. The test was different against the usual anti-virus test, which involved looking at current threats from the Internet.
When carrying out tests to check how good your antivirus protection against viruses, trojans and other dangerous code, usually this is in general done by faking an attack on a computer with antivirus software. It installs simply a variety of viruses on your computer. This is often done in a closed environment and it is a great way to find out how good the protection is active.
But it is by no means a perfect solution. More interesting is that if you do that NSS Labs and testing antivirus programs in a live environment. NSS Labs has tested nine known viruses by exposing them to current threats. Example, it has sent the computer to dangerous websites viruses downloaded. Then you can see which of the security programs that stopped the download, and who was keeping an installation on the download could not be stopped.
Based on this test has thus been given up two percentage values. One that tells what percentage of the dangerous code that was stopped as soon as it tried to be downloaded to your computer, and one that tells you how many of those who managed to download but was stopped during installation attempt.

Trend Micro picked as said home first place with 96.4 percent. The software from Trend Micro used is Trend Micro Internet Security 2009. In second place we find Kaspersky to 87.8 percent. The figures are quite evident with the Trend Micro really managed to create a really good protection against harmful software on the Internet.
But one thing that should be noted is that security companies are going out with the 2010 versions of their programs. Those that NSS Labs has tested the 2009 model year, which means that the new versions will hopefully be even better at stopping the dangerous code live. The security package and the antivirus which was included in the test were:
  1. AVG Internet Security, version 8.5.375
  2. Eset Smart Security 4, version 4.0.437
  3. F-Secure Internet Security 2009, version 9.00 build 149
  4. Kaspersky Internet Security 2009, version 8.0.0.506
  5. McAfee Total Protection Suite 2009
  6. Norman Security Suite 7.1
  7. Norton Internet Security 2009, version 16.5.0.135
  8. Panda Internet Security, version 14
  9. Trend Micro Internet Security 2009, version 17.1.1250
Worst protection of the test gave Eset Smart Security, which just managed to stop 67.9 percent of the dangerous code that attacked your computer. AVG and Panda are not particularly good at. In the case of AVG, it is important to emphasize that it is the commercial version and not the free version. The commercial AVG package is updated faster than the free version, and therefore reasonably better protection.

Michael Dell saw Netbooks in total

Michael Dell , founder and head of datortillvarkaren of the same name, saw the mini-computers ( netbooks ) at the ankles in a speech he made on the Churchill Club in Silicon Valley.According to Dell, consumers are dissatisfied with their purchases within 36 hours. Why he says so, when Dell heeled lots of mini-computers?
The news that Michael Dell total squared mini computers has spread through the IT sphere. It was during a speech he made as he explained that customers who buy mini-computers become dissatisfied after one and a half days, because the screen is too small and of poor performance.

If you take a user who’s used to a 14- or 15-inch notebook and you say "Here’s a 10-inch netbook, they’re gonna say 'Hey, this is so fantastic. It’s so cute. It’s so light. I love it. Dell told Silicon Valley’s tech-obsessed Churchill Club during an appearance Tuesday night.' But about 36 hours later, they’re saying ‘The screen’s gonna have to go. Give me my 15-inch screen back."

I understand that this applies to some consumers. There are certainly those who buy a mini PC as it is cheap and cute, but misunderstand its purpose.A mini-computer is never a replacement for an ordinary computer. It is a complement. You will not be able to replace your ordinary notebook PC to a mini computer and think that you can use it like any other machine at any time.

Mini computer is slow and small

The performance is poor. The screen is small. But for its purpose, to be able to take your computer anywhere and be able to get an affordable PC that used to surf and send e-mail, is the mini-computer is an excellent choice. I have an Asus Eee PC 901 Go that I am extremely happy with. Sure, the keyboard and screen too small for me to work for long periods with it, but that's not why I bought it.
I bought it because I do not always want to carry with me a standard laptop. When I sit on the train, or in a hotel room, in the passenger seat of a car, or the couch of a friend, then my little ultra-portable computer perfectly .
Dell mini computers in their catalog and they sell well by it. So why choose when Michael Dell to cut a product they actually sell a lot of?

Poor business selling mini-computers

The truth is that computer manufacturers are not fond of mini-computers. They want us to get real laptop instead, but since the demand for mini-computers are so big they can not help but sort of. Minicomputers, however, is not they earn any money. The profit margin for these computers is very small. They escape, after all, a lot of components, while the price tag is usually very low.
Something else that computer manufacturers today earn big money is to send the software from third-party. This can include the image editing software, Office suite, antivirus, and so on. The problem with netbooks is that they have for the poor performance to be preloaded with, for example Adobe Photoshop Elements or a major security package. So there goes a hefty portion of their income.
The user does not understand the limitations of mini-computers do that they will encounter problems. And when they have problems call the support team - something that is far from free for manufacturers. If there was something more than the profit margins disappear guaranteed a good piece of cake to pay for support cases of various kinds.

Minidatorn in the future

So we will see mini-computers in the future? Yes, I am quite sure. But it shows where we are headed. When the first mini computer arrived, the Asus Eee PC 700 , low price tag of less than 3000 dollars. Today, the new mini-computers on the double. Sure, there are still cheap versions, but the mini-computer is getting ever better performance and increasing price tag .
It will be interesting to see how the market evolves in 2010. The days of new snot cheap netbooks said to be over, but the very concept of the small ultra-portable PCs will continue to exist.

Nokia 3G Booklet, fully stocked mini-computer with a high price

Nokia 3G Booklet has been a lot of attention in the media who report on minicomputers. It usually is when a known producer comes with a new computer, and especially as Nokia moving into a new market. 3G Booklet seems to be really interesting, but cost a lot.

Nokia's first mini-computer is named forthe Nokia 3G Booklet presented atNokia World 2009. 3G Booklet is a mini computer that still exist only in a test version that some have the advantage of testing. Slash Gear , for example, has written a small test on your computer. They tell us that the early version running Windows 7, which requires a portion of the right weak Intel Celeron processor at 1.6 GHz.

Nokia 3G Booklet has built-in 3G modem for those who want to connect to the Internet via mobile broadband. It is also equipped with an HDMI connector, to which you connect your computer, for example, a flat screen television. Furthermore, there is a built-in GPS , also good for those who want to take the computer away from the office.
According to the New Technology , the computer will cost at least 6000 , when they come to Sweden. It is overkill for a small laptop, even if it contains a lot of good features. An interesting detail is that Nokia has entered the battery life on 3G Booklet for up to 12 hours!
